No Espresso coffee maker? This works too
- Portable espresso€130–350Hand and compact equipment, type Picopresso or Flair, that reach the pressure of the espresso without electricity. To travel or to begin.
- Italian coffee maker (moka)€20–60The life-long stove coffee maker: the steam pushes the water through the coffee. Intense, with body and very cheap.
- AeroPress€35–55A plastic cylinder with plunger: immersion and a soft pressure. Versatile, resistant and almost unbreakable. Ideal for travel.
Method
Prepare a double espresso of 30-60 ml ("Espresso" recipe) in a large pre-heated cup.
It heats 90-180 ml of water at about 90 ° C, without boiling to buckles.
Add the water over the espresso little by little and try: for most, 1 part of coffee and 3 of water is a good point.
Tips and warnings
It is said that the name comes from the American soldiers in Italy during World War II, who extended the espresso with water to bring it closer to its filter coffee.
- No mole or filter coffee: here the water does not pass through the coffee.
- If you put the water first and then the espresso, you have a "Long black."
- No machine: a concentrated and extended AeroPress with water gives a very similar result.
One last thing
Extended espresso, elongated smile. If you want to extend the life of this website as well, a ko‑fi helps.
