A tasting makes a great plan for dinner with friends, and you don't need to be an expert. Cocinoa takes care of the tricky part.
Choose what to taste
In Tastings at home → New tasting, the first thing is to decide what it's about. With alcohol, in la Barra (18+): wine, beer, cider, spirits or alcohol-free. For all ages: coffee, olive oil, cheese and chocolate.
If you don't know where to start, each type has ready-made tastings, such as “Sherries from Jerez”, “A journey through hops”, “Ciders from the Cantabrian coast” or “From white to pure cacao”. You can also build your own: horizontal, vertical, by style or a pairing. And if you're going to taste something homemade or something that isn't in the catalogue, add it as your own.
In the right order
Order matters: a powerful red before a light white spoils everything. The Order like a sommelier button puts everything in its place. If you like, the tasting can be blind: only “Sample A”, “Sample B”… are shown until the end.
What to serve
Under What to serve you choose between Nibbles, Paired dinner (a Cocinoa recipe for each item) or Just water and bread. With nibbles, Cocinoa suggests a bite for each glass, something for everyone to share and something to cleanse the palate, each with the reason it works. It avoids any allergies you tell it about and warns you if a strong bite comes before something delicate. With Add the food to your “Catas” list your shopping is done.
How much to buy
Cocinoa tells you how many things to taste and how many units to buy for your number of guests: bottles, cans, wedges of cheese or bars of chocolate. The more of you there are, the more units of each, not more variety. Whatever's missing goes on the list with one tap.
On the day
Guests scan the QR code or open the link and fill in their sheet on their phone, no account needed: appearance, nose, palate, whether they like it and what they think it is. At the end you'll see where you agreed, the aromas that came up most and the average score for each one. The notes can be saved to your cellar. And if you fancy a bit of competition, try the Tasting game.
