Fogon toaster

The stove toasters are put on the kitchen fire. Some are a hand-warmed ceramic saucer, like the Nuvo Eco; others, a handle pot that removes the grains, like the Whirley-Pop. They're 50-250 g in 10-15 minutes.

They improve the frying pan because they better repair the heat and facilitate the removal. They remain manual: the result depends on your fire, your rhythm and your attention.

• You hear and smell every stage.
• Against: smoke in the kitchen.
• Against: risk of burns; handles are heated.

Security: maximum bell or open window, gloves, never leave it alone and have a extinguisher nearby.

They cost €20-60. Choose one that works in your kitchen, because not all are for induction, and with a handle that does not transmit heat. Cheapest alternative: a thick pan.
